Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, the sequel that nobody asked for but was actually kinda good!
Samara Weaving steps back into the twisted world of the high council, reprising her role as Grace alongside a charismatic Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania) who stars as the Australian’s estranged sister Faith.

As we delve back into the fantastically sadistic minds of directors: Tyler Gillet and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, we learn that very little has changed in the world of Ready or Not as the sequel is, in fact, a direct continuation of the 2019 movie, picking up from the same staircase where we last saw the bloodied and beaten Grace.
On the whole I was pleased with this decision and in fact felt it could not have been done in any other way, yet as the film progressed I felt myself needing more from the storytellers! Indeed, a lot of the films first and second act is totally indifferent from the first, almost feeling like a ‘directors cut’ of the original. However, this is thankfully disrupted by an abrupt but incredibly strong third act, invoking themes of satanism, corruption, oligarchy and faustianism which I wish defined the whole movie.
Although at a first glance the sequel may seem like nothing more than a worthless cash-grab, your actually met with some solid and reputable performances from the returning cast members and first-time appearances such as that of the character played by Elijah Wood who provides a fairly simplistic, but effective performance and, of course, Kathryn Newton who works incredibly on-screen with Weaving to portray a problematic but powerful duo.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is a film you should be seeing in theaters this year, and it is far better than its competitor: ‘They Will Kill You,’ during their joint U.K. cinema release schedule. Worth your time.
